Over the past number of years, Tignish and Alberton branches have hosted a weekly 50/50 draw with proceeds being distributed into the local economy. In 2025, the total generated and collected at the branches for the communities is an astounding $71,000!

We appreciate the generosity of our local members, without whom, this would not be possible. We thank you for the abundance of support over the years and a huge congratulations to all draw winners throughout the year.

Please ask a staff member from Tignish or Alberton if you would like to purchase a number to be included in the weekly draws.  E-transfers are accepted and draws happen on Mondays.

Provincial Credit Union offers free electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at all 10 of its branches for members.  Powered by Hypercharge, the chargers are compatible with all major electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.  Members can access the stations for free by emailing finance@pcu.ca to set up a member status. Non-members are charged $2/hour. To use the charging stations, download the Hypercharge mobile App.

Provincial Credit Union supports its members by helping families with children receiving treatment at the IWK stay at Ronald MacDonald House in Halifax.  Normally, anyone needing a room at the house pays $15 per night, thanks to corporate donations and fundraising efforts that keep costs low.

Through a partnership with PEI credit unions, this $15 nightly fee is fully covered for members of any PEI credit union. To take advantage of the program, members simply need to identify themselves as a PEI Credit Union member at check-in.  Ronald MacDonald House will bill the credit union directly.  Certain conditions apply, such as being a member in good standing.

Scholarships

We are dedicated to supporting our local communities by investing in our youth as they pursue their post-secondary education. If you are a Grade 12 student in Prince Edward Island planning to enroll in a recognized post-secondary institution this fall, or if you are a returning student, be sure to look for the next round of scholarship applications in April.
