Preparing to Open a Business Account

Opening a bank account for your business is an exciting milestone, and taking a few minutes to prepare in advance can make the account opening process smoother and help ensure you have everything you need.

Before your appointment, make sure you:

    • Have a registered business name.
To open an account under a business name with Provincial Credit Union, you must have the business name registered with the Province of PEI Corporate Registry.

    • Know your corporate structure.
You'll need to provide information about the business owners, officers, and directors. Be prepared to know who is authorized to sign and in what combination.

    • Be prepared to provide your personal information and identification.
Have government-issued identification and personal details ready, such as your home address, contact information, employment information, and other information required to verify your identity.

At Provincial Credit Union, we offer a variety of operating and savings accounts for businesses.

If you are not sure which account will suit your business best or have questions about different account types, feel free to reach out to our business team. We have business team members across PEI who are available to meet with you to discuss your business options.
