Provincial Credit Union’s Community Impact Grant funding is equipping four Island organizations to create new initiatives and expand meaningful work in PEI communities. The Impact Grant launched in September 2025, focusing on funding school success, developing financial literacy, addressing homelessness and housing needs, and supporting inclusion in communities. Provincial Credit Union is proud to announce the following recipients of the inaugural Impact Grant:
Kits of Kindness
Received $25,000 to support food kits for children in need across PEI. Volunteers source, pack, and deliver food kits to schools, helping ensure that children have access to food outside of school hours. During the 2024-2025 school year, 8,875 food kits were distributed across 27 schools. This grant will allow the organization to expand the program further and ensure that nutritious foods are purchased.
Learning Disabilities Association of PEI
Received $25,000 to go towards the launch of its Lift Up Learning program. This program will provide subsidized one-on-one tutoring with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning for children and youth with learning disabilities and related challenges.
L.M. Montgomery School
Received $12,500 to launch its Nourish and Empower program, supporting immigrants and low-income students with nutritious breakfast and books. This will expand the school’s current breakfast program to include literacy support for K-6 students by providing books that are culturally relevant, age-appropriate, and matched to individual reading levels.
Pride PEI
Received $15,000 for its Common Cents Club. This will provide members of the LGBTQ+ community with access to personalized financial coaching and literacy sessions.
“We created this grant with Provincial Credit Union’s mission of enabling PEI communities to thrive in mind”, says Provincial Credit Union CEO Alfred Arsenault. “We are excited to empower these organizations through the Impact Grant as they continue to support the communities and people of Prince Edward Island.”
