Tree Of Hope

Release December 23, 2025

31st Annual Tree of Hope Holiday Toy Drive Supports Local Families

Provincial Credit Union, Malpeque Bay Branch,  in partnership with the Kensington Lions Club, collected and distributed toys, clothing, and gifts this holiday season through the Tree of Hope initiative.

The Tree of Hope has been a tradition at the credit union in Malpeque Bay for over 30 years and is a cornerstone of community giving in the region. At the beginning of the season, the Tree of Hope is filled with wishes. Community members pick a wish from the tree and donate items from the wish list.

This year, volunteers from both Provincial Credit Union and the Kensington Lions Club teamed up to put together Christmas Hampers to support households facing financial challenge. Provincial Credit Union staff assembled boxes containing toys and children’s clothing from the donations made by the community, and the Kensington Lions Club Food Bank provided food baskets.

Organizers say the demand has continued to grow, and community involvement plays a crucial role in meeting that need. “Every year, we’re reminded of how generous Islanders are,” said organizers. “These donations truly make a difference for families right here at home.”
