31st Annual Tree of Hope Holiday Toy Drive to Support Local Families
Provincial Credit Union, in partnership with the Kensington Lions Club, collects toys that are distributed to local families in need within the Kensington area. We are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys or clothing for children until December 8 at our Malpeque Bay branch. Not sure what there is a need for? You can come and grab a tag off our Tree of Hope for a specific item that is needed.
This annual initiative has become a cornerstone of community giving in the region, helping ensure that every child experiences the joy of the holiday season. Volunteers from both Provincial Credit Union and the Kensington Lions Club work together to sort, package, and deliver the donated items, supporting households who may be facing financial challenges at this time of year.
Organizers say the demand has continued to grow, and community involvement plays a crucial role in meeting that need. “Every year, we’re reminded of how generous Islanders are,” said organizers. “These donations truly make a difference for families right here at home.”
Members of the public are encouraged to drop off contributions during branch hours or visit the Tree of Hope to select a tag that outlines a child’s age and gift request. Even small donations, organizers note, can have a meaningful impact.
The toy drive will wrap up on December 8, giving volunteers time to prepare the packages for distribution leading up to the holidays.
